Solo Footwork Lesson (On1)

Note: This is a sample lesson to give you a taste of Patrick and Scarlet’s teaching methodology. You can sign-up for the full salsa program here.

This footwork lesson is a perfect example that you don’t need a partner to improve your salsa on Dance Dojo. There’s a ton you can do on your own.

If you find you need extra practice with a certain step we teach every single one of these moves (and a ton more) in full detail in our members area, so you can learn them on their own and use them in your social dancing. We don’t just teach patterns at Dance Dojo, we teach you how to dance!

La Musica: Mario Ortiz – El Pescador

First, take a look at what the move looks like and store a mental picture of what you’re trying to accomplish.

Note: you’ll hear Patrick mention our “basics element page” in this video. This page is only accessible to Dance Dojo members and it’s where we break-down and teach all the individual footwork steps that we use in these combos.

Tip – Add Basics In Between Your Steps to Make Things Easier

As we mentioned before, stringing together footwork elements is an intermediate skill. If you’re struggling with the pattern add some basics in between each step to allow yourself to recover and prepare for the next step. Take your time and go at whatever pace you need to absorb the lesson – this is the key to faster progress!

Slow Practice

La Musica: Tito Puente – Separala Tambien

Fast Practice

La Musica: Noro Morales – Scharneco’s Mambo
