Advanced Salsa Pattern: Bouncy Hands

Bouncy Hands

Your new combo this week is an advanced salsa pattern we named ‘Bouncy Hands’.

Don’t let the fancy hand styling fool you! This advanced combo consists of only two basic elements : a basic inside turn and a basic right turn. With changes of angles and fancy hand styling for the men, the Bouncy Hands advanced salsa turn pattern is an excellent example of how to spice up your social dancing by adding variations and styling to your basic salsa moves, making them look more advanced.

Leads, the pattern begins with the basic inside turn with you facing away from the follows. This should prove to be no problem if you manage to get out of the follow’s line of dance and if a clear shoulder line is given. Following the basic inside turn, the pattern is followed up by a series of quick locks and rondes into a basic right turn for the follows. Finally, the pattern comes to close with a basic inside turn with a head loop. The footwork for the leads in this combo is fairly simple, but coordinating the hands with the feet will prove to be the most difficult part of this advanced salsa combination.

Follows, although this pattern only consists of a basic inside turn and basic right turn, this advanced salsa pattern is deemed difficult to follow because of the complexity of the hand variations and angles lead by the lead. By keeping posture, frame, timing, and having your arms and elbows relaxed, this salsa pattern will be a short but sweet salsa combo to pull off on the dance floor.
