The 2014 Canada Salsa & Bachata Congress, is just around the corner! The event takes place from Thursday October 9th to Sunday October 12th at the Sheraton Centre Hotel in downtown Toronto. This is the largest Salsa event in the country and attracts up to 5,000 attendees each year.
For 2014, the festival is set to deliver a jam packed weekend including four socials, three nights of performances, three days of workshops all while playing host to the Canadian Salsa & Bachata championships, attracting both pro and amateur competitors.
What’s happening at the Canada Salsa Congress?
The Canada Salsa Congress focuses mainly in Salsa and Bachata but also offers workshops and social dancing in Hustle, Kizomba, Cha Cha, Pachanga and West Coast Swing. Beyond the socials, the congress has an unbelievable line up of guest instructors and performers. Here’s what they’ve got coming your way:
- 35 international artists
- 60 dance companies
- 40 of the world’s best instructors
- 22 hours of social dancing
- 10 Djs + a live band

Congress Weekend Schedule
This year’s congress will start at 8pm on Thursday October 9, with the Canadian Salsa & Bachata Dance Championships followed by an evening of social dancing with DJ Henry Knowles (New York). On Friday, the workshops and Pro-Am Salsa Showcase take place and the famous evening entertainment gets kicked off that night starting at 9pm. With over 2 hours of international performances every night, the evening showcases are one of the biggest draws of the congress.

When it comes to performances, the Canada Salsa Congress hosts one of the best shows in North America. With more than 25 international guests, the performance lineup is outstanding.
