The San Francisco Salsa Congress 2014
The 2014 San Francisco Bay Area International Salsa Congress is just around the corner. From Thursday November 20th to Sunday November 23rd, Salseros from all over the world will gather at the Oakland Marriott City Center Hotel for an unforgettable weekend of all-night parties and dancing at one of the largest Salsa congresses in the world.
What’s happening at the Congress?
The San Francisco Salsa Congress is going to be one of the most exciting Salsa events of the year. The weekend is loaded with amazing workshops and an unbelievable line up of performers. Here’s a little taste of what’s going on:
- All Star Live Music with Conjunto Clasico, Tito Rojas and the Best Local and International Bands
- World Salsa Challenge Dance Competition on Sunday Night
- Nightly Shows from local and international performers
- International dancers and Instructors
- Over 45 workshops from Beginner to Masters levels
- Workshops include Salsa (On1/On2), Bachata, Kiizomba, Pilates, Zumba + more
- Dedicated Bachata International & Kizomba Rooms till 4am
- Over 40,000 sq/ft of dance floor
A Day in the Life at the SF Salsa Congress
The SF Salsa Congress starts off on Thursday with the Yamulee Challenge followed by social dancing and evening performances by both local and international guests. After that, the dance floor opens up and the first live band kicks off the night. The next days follow a similar pattern with the added bonus of a breakfast buffet starting at 4am on Saturday and Sunday. When it comes to social dancing, attendees get spoiled with dedicated Bachata and Kizomba rooms along with the usual sizzling Salsa hot spots.
World Salsa Challenge
By the time Sunday rolls around, the World Salsa Challenge begins and many of the former and current World Salsa Champions will be competing and challenging the rest of the world’s professional dancers. On top of that, the exciting Jack and Jill competition showcases are held for both open and masters levels.
Sunday might be the last day of the congress, but it’s sure to go down in history as one of the best experiences of your Salsa life!

There are various ticketing options for the congress including a Full Day Pass, All Evening Pass, Yamulee Challenge, Master Classes and everything in between.
