The Inside Turn – Beginner Salsa Step

New to Salsa? We recommend starting with our Free Beginner’s Guide: How To Salsa Dance.

Inside Turn

The inside turn starts as a cross-body lead, but on the second half of the cross-body the ladies execute 1.5 turns counter-clockwise.

This beginner Salsa move is hugely important to master for both leads and follows because it is one of the most frequently used turns. Many complex arm variations will arise from this single element later on. In other words, you’re either going to do this move 100 times a night really well or not so successfully at all. Our suggestion: polish it up and have a good time!

The full lesson comes with a special technique video for the ladies as well as a detailed description of the partner work. We even include a special tips tutorial to help you really master the move. To start learning the inside turn, login or become a member today.
